WHY In our practice we are predominantly interested in exploration of phenomenological aspects of existing and created spaces. We enjoy creation of sincere architecture, true to its materiality and context, in dialogue with its function and surrounding. Differentiating between interiors and exteriors we often combine varying sensibilities within one project depending on program and setting.
We are eager to explore, learn and experiment with unwavering sense of responsibility by venturing into various creative fields, what we believe helps develop core focus of our practice which is architecture.

Hamilton Residence is a private residence situated in Phetchaburi, Thailand. With the location being an open field with no particular focal point in sight, the architect comes up with the idea of creating a point of interest for the project through the physical presence of a ‘plane’. As an architectural element, the plane serves a variety of purposes, from creating an order of accessibility and priority of various functional spaces of the house to determining the enclosure of the house’s outdoor periphery (horizontal plane), including the partitioning / dividing the interior functional spaces with the walls (vertical plane) whose masses are stretched to be physically higher than the roof structure. The design grants a higher level of privacy to the living space by directing the perspective of every room of the house towards the ‘Tearoom’, which functions as the focal point of the program, following the owners’ intention for the residence to become their very own ‘Teahouse’.

Dusit Laguna Resort Villas and Hotel is conceived as a result of the growing demand for both short and long stay of foreign tourists in Phuket through the years. The program houses a hotel building and a cluster of 22 villas as the architect delivers a floor plan that opens itself up to the massive lake to fully embrace the spectacular view. Allocated to be horizontally overlapped with the axes thoughtfully twisted, the buildings’ structures visually shield each other’s functional interior space, offering a greater sense of privacy for the guests.
In terms of the design concept, the architect combines the architectural compositions of a traditional Phuket house such as the openings to enable natural airflow to the design elements of Tropical architecture to enhance the program’s natural ventilation. Thai patterns are selected and simplified, rendering a look that is more contemporary. The ornamental details of patterns and colors are also inspired from traditional buildings in Phuket Old Town, reflecting the Thai and regional architectural identity as well as the characteristic of Dusit Thani hotel chain through the aesthetic of both the hotel building and the villas.
