HANS ULRICH OBRIST INITIATED ‘DO IT’ IN 1994 IN HOPE TO EXPERIMENT ON A MORE FLEXIBLE AND OPEN-ENDED EXHIBITION BY INVITING ARTISTS TO SEND ‘INSTRUCTION’ BEFORE THEY WERE TRANSLATED AND CIRCULATED INTERNATIONALLY.
